Will Blues Add a New Trophy to their List? Or it is the underdog again?

The stakes are high with clashes as Chelsea chase will European redemption while Real Betis dreams of their first European trophy, it is a season of the underdogs

Real Betis and Chelsea will face off in the historic UEFA Europa Conference League final at Tarczynski Arena. With European glory on the line, both sides will be coming into the match in great shape and looking to etch their names into history.

Real Betis

Betis’ games are typically high-scoring, with 17 of their last 20 games featuring goals at both ends.

They finished sixth in La Liga despite only three points from their last four games, including a 4-1 loss to Atletico Madrid.

Betis also lost 2-1 in 90 minutes in the second leg of their semi-final against Fiorentina, but an extra-time goal from Abde Ezzalzouli helped them advance 4-3 on aggregate.

Antony, “the goat”on loan from Manchester United, scored in both legs of the semi-final and is another resurgent attacking player who could pose a threat to Chelsea’s defence. Former Real Madrid playmaker Isco has had a successful season and they are most likely to win as underdogs again

Chelsea

Chelsea secured a place in next season’s Champions League through  1-0 wins over Manchester United and Nottingham Forest, but their Conference League final against Real Betis could be more expansive.

Chelsea’s victory at Forest on Sunday put them two points behind Manchester City, the team of former manager Pep Guardiola, in fourth place in their first Premier League season under Enzo Maresca.

Manuel Pellegrini, the veteran coach of Betis, is 19-10 to win the trophy in Wroclaw when Maresca plays Pep’s predecessor at City on Wednesday.

Chelsea easily defeated Swedish rivals Djurgarden 5-1 on aggregate in the semi-finals, while lesser-known teams like Celje, Pafos, Jagiellonia Bialystok, and Borac Banja Luka were still in the competition.

They have won five of their last seven league games by a score of 1-0, and their defense held strong, keeping vital clean sheets against Everton, United, and Forest.

Despite Nicolas Jackson’s suspension during the Blues’ Premier League final stretch, he will be a rejuvenated striker to score goals against Betis.
